Meatless Monday is a concept that initially didn't go down so well in our house. Until I started experimenting with Mexican quinoa bowls. It's super easy after a busy day and very nutritious. And who doesn't love a dish that requires only one pan?

The Ultimate Ice Tea
Summer is starting to fade here in Johannesburg and we are making the best of it. Lexi and I have been spending our days in the garden, as much as possible. To encourage Lexi to drink more (and in keeping with our summery days), I have been making batches of ice tea and adding fruit.

Pomegranate Picking
This morning Lexi and I went on one of the best Adventure Clubs adventures yet.... picking organic pomegranates at Ganico organic farm. They were warm, friendly and great with the kids.

What garden do you grow?
Lexi was a bit confused recently. She thought that everyone grows vegetables. We discussed that most people grow flowers and the different types of gardens. It was great fun (and very educational) looking at pictures of some famous gardens.
This got me thinking about the different types of vegetable gardens.

Raw Brownies
Lexi has developed an insatiable sweet tooth of late. Thankfully she still loves to eat vegetables, but she frequently asks me for "food treats".
