Raw Brownies

Lexi has developed an insatiable sweet tooth of late. Thankfully she still loves to eat vegetables, but she frequently asks me for "food treats".

The first place I turned to for healthy alternatives is Deliciously Ella. If you haven't seen this book you need to check it out. It's available on TakeALot. And be sure to read Ella's story, it is truly phenomenal!

It wasn't hard to find something yummy and relatively healthy to make as a sweet treat. And it's a huge bonus to find a recipe that involves little more than throwing a bunch of things in the food processor. Lexi LOVES measuring and mixing.

Without further ado..... here's the recipe

All you need is:

2 cups medjool dates
1 cup pecans (I used walnuts because that's what I had in the house)
2-3 Tbsp raw cacao powder
2 Tbsp maple syrup (PLEASE use the good, organic kind!)

That's it!

Put it all in the food processor.

Put the mixture into a baking tray (or any other dish that suits you) and refrigerate or freeze until set.

For the actual recipe, visit Deliciously Ella

The result.... Some yummy gooey brownies and a very happy Lexi!

Give it a try and let me know how yours turned out.

Happy baking!
Candice & Lexi
